Zen pays off!

Hello everyone. Having just been away for my Easter Holidays in York, home of – among other things – the National Railway Museum and the only intact Halifax bomber in the world, I returned to find a gift awaiting me!

If you have been following the blogs in the links on this page, you will know from the Sleepers and Shunters website that I was their first ever winner of a photo competition. The rules were quite simple: take a photo of a railway item on your layout that you purchased from the S&S site. Here is the winning picture:

The winning picture: The S&S-bought T9 (the locomotive on the suspension bridge) pulls a local train as the White Pullman rushes past on the viaduct.

I now have a limited edition (in fact, unique!) S&S-branded wagon to pull on Starlingford!

And I have been rewriting bits of Ghost Among Thieves, particularly the President’s kick-ass, pumped-up call-to-arms speech. But that, I think, can wait for another post.

Final zen:

Mallard (on an Express) and the Flying Scotsman (on a Pullman train) wait in the station, while an N2 tank engine rumbles through with the 'Flying Kipper' fish train
